Lyrics which touch your soul .

Home is behind, the world ahead
And there are many pass to tread
Through shadow, to the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadow, cloud and shape
Hope shall fail, all shall fade

Musings

"Everything quantifiable gets normalised in life, its the unquantifiable which cheers you up and makes life worth living"

Some thought which came up during a chat session with a dear friend..

Game over or Start New Game?

Its all a Mirage .

In this world of mirages
Where is the real you??

When you look into the mirror
Do you see a stranger staring back at you?

Then one day you decide enough is enough
I will get out of this room made of mirages

The minute you become the real ,original you
You are stripped off opportunities!

Why???

Coz you no longer talk like them, laugh like them or follow the rules they made.

So is it Game over or Start New Game?

Winds of Change .....Long awaited change

Should I feel pain for leaving this place and moving on?

For losing friends and colleagues I never had?

For the repellent coffee served with the omnipresent Logo staring at me?

For my Ego or intellect whatever you can call it being bruised during various sessions of highly inflated gyan..

I am glad for getting out of this claustrophobic place..a place called Office

Being surrounded by boxes n people who could be passed off as boxes.

Time for me to Breathe in some Fresh Air and try doing something more constructive with better boxes…opps better people.

The week that was.

Been away for quite sometime from the internet..not that I Missed it too much, my parents  and Bro were in Pune with us  the whole of last week..

Just can’t remember how the week went by…

Should tell u guys we had been to Bombay last Sunday and with the monsoon’s deciding to enter Mumbai  the same day ..we had a real wet Sunday…

We were soaked on the rain during out visit to Mahalakshmi Mandir… oour driver got lost with  the car…we thought my dad went missing. (he went looking for the car by hiring a taxi;).bro was drencher head to toe… as he went looking out for dad near Haji Ali…all this barefoot (chappals were left in the car) in Mumbai with the rain lashing out on us!!

The next major trip was to Shirdi… Which is a 5 hr drive away from Pune….the darshan went off well..not too many adventures there

My mom went berserk in Tulsiwadi… (it’s a major commercial area in Pune,,with all clothes/accessories/jewellary shop )..she made us visit the same area 3 times in a time span of 5 days!!

Now everyone is back on their respective home turfs…So going through somekind of Empty nest syndrome ….

We went back to our green friends house to meet them  after a long time, were just in time to catch a slide show on the habitats of a wet land in Aundh. My friend here is writing a book on the flora n fauna on BR hills, kalyan  have u by any chance met these people???,, they are from a group called Kalpavriksh

Looks like the coming weekend also we will accompany them to a Nature Trail trek.

People leave Managers and Not Companies.

I read in an article, based on a Gallup Survey , which says that  in most  of the cases a person quits a job because of the Supervisor above him.

What do u think about it? Have you or anyone you know left an organisation because of a Supervisor?

How good /bad have your supervisors been?

Have they been the Mentors you hoped for or Just Passing the Buck Joe’s!

Do Share your views.

I can forward the article to anyone interested.

The best line I liked in the article is-

" It isn’t the 100th blow that knocks a good man down. It's the 99 that went before."

(no subject)

Its raining weddings!!!

Well guess its a natural  phenomenon when u have friends of  a particular age group.

Was looking at Vaishnavi’s  photo , she does look so happy!!

I was remembering what we went thru , a few months ago…It all started out fine with the engagement ,muhurtham  and all.. It was the reception which got us pooped!

Had to stand on the Dias for  more than 4 long hours!! And go through gruelling photo sessions after that..

Every wedding is different, very different ……It’s a pity I am unable to attend so many of them as  I am far from where the action is happening.

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

Your Birthdate: July 28

Your birth on the 28th day of the month (1 energy) adds a tone of independence and extra energy to your Life Path.
The number 1 energy suggest more executive ability and leadership qualities than you path may have indicated.
A birthday on the 28th of any month gives greater will power and self-confidence, and very often a rather original approach.

Unlike much of the other 1 energy, this birthday is one that endow with the ability to start a job and continue on until it is finished.
You may prefer to use the broad brush, but you can handle details as well.
You are sensitive, but your feeling stay somewhat repressed.
You have a compelling manner that can be dominating in many situations.

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

Kasto Mazza Hai!

Watched Parineeta on Saturday night.

I haven’t seen too many Vidhu Vinod Chopra movies , neither have I read any Sharat Chatterji novel.
So watching the movie from a novice’s eyes , I should say it’s a very well made movie.

I was most impressed by the leading lady, Vidya Balan.

Had seen her in some ads and Euphoria’s music video. She beats all other heroines with her expressive eyes.
Saif Ali Khan is also impressive , watch his transition from that Akshay Kumar movie to Parineeta , u can see his growth. Sanjay dutt,Dia Mirza have not too many scenes in the movie.

The songs are lovely. We had picked up the CD some months ago and so Arvind could be heard singing along during the songs ;)

So this was the highlight of the week , along with oodles of sleep and home cooked food.

No idea abt how the weekend was for my other friends on LJ.

Matheran Trip - May 21-22

Matheran…was a lovely break.. Away from the scorching heat of pune.

The best route is through the Bombay-Pune Highway. Down Khopoli to Neral , Dasturi and trekking to Matheran.

Well if you are planning your trip over the much awaited long weekends …then expect crowd..loads of crowd.

We drove down …checked in Neral railway station for tickets…we were a bit late…however we enjoyed nice breakfast of Poha and Vada Pav.. This was J uncle and families first taste of authentic maharastrian BF.

Then we parked our dear overloaded Maruti 800 in Dasturi…BTW the ride from Neral to Dasturi is pretty adventurous , the road is not in great shape so experienced drivers need to take charge here.. esp as the local Taxi guys try to overtake you from all sides.

The Dasturi Parking lot , is more like a mini red floored parking lot , with loads of huge trees everywhere and you need to maneuver ur car to fit in btw the trees and safely park it there ,after keeping necessary accessories like huge boulders in front of the car tyres..

From Dasturi , u need to trek up about 4 –kms to Matheran , however there are numerous short cuts and the surroundings are very pleasant for a walk in the woods!
For kids and aged ppl , there are horses and hand- carts available, however you need to start using your expert bargaining powers from here onwards.

We got a guide to misguide us ;) ,s o he showed us some shady places for lodging ..however after some nice discussions btw the brainy women in the groups and the not to smart guys ;-) we decided to check into Hotel Woodlands!

The best part of this place was neither the food nor room interiors/comfort.. it was the ambience around the hotel , as the name says aptly this hotel is in between the woods . There are good number of swings /slides etc put around the hotel .

And its not in the market place unlike other hotels we saw later.. food is good…however you are so hungry after trekking and all u hardly taste what u eat…and everything in front of you looks yum! However we were greeted by a frog in the loo ! And a dusty loft where they had arranged beds which could accommodate 4 ppl.

Then comes the most exciting part of the trip… the horse ride ..we were a gang of 5 , with 2 kiddos sharing one pony! The best part was of D going on his horse calling it Basanthi and Dhanoo and trying to race ahead of all of us.

BTW he also tried singing to the horse old ,melodious kannada songs which had no effect on the horse!

We galloped from one place to another… and the last point was Sunset point after which about 100 horse riders made their way back to their respective hotels.

We decided to go shopping .. which was a bad decision, as the horse ride was not as less tiring as we thought it would be. We just looked around and decided to buy stuff the next day.

The next day was Sunday …so slept late woke up had breakfast and began the marathon shopping ..However it was not me who did the shopping , it was my aunt who went crazy and bought loads of jute bags, slippers for the hazaar nieces back in Bangalore, chikkis etc.

I very sensibly picked some nice ceramic pendants ,for myself and bro and a nice wooden car showpiece for dad. D bought his share of chikkis ! which are still hidden in a box at home.

And I though the trip ended once we walked along the train tracks to pick up our green turned orange car , how I was mistaken.

The route back , got us driving on the wrong side all the way till LonavalaL then by luck we drove all the way back and figured out the route , and finally got back on the right side of the Pune expressway.

So back home , after a lovely break !however I do have 2 buckets of red colored clothes and red coloured sneakers to remind me of Matheran for a long time now !

PS:will try to upload the snaps sometime soon
